There’s a lot going on when you get in the car—setting up your iPod, texting your friends, powering up the Gameboy or PSP, or fighting with Mom about what radio station to listen to.  Sometimes kids can forget to buckle up.  Taking a moment to “pause to click” your safety belt and riding in the back seat are the best ways to be safe in the car. 

Because kids listen to what other kids are saying, we're asking middle school students to put your talents to good use and create an entry that tells kids why it's important to buckle up before hitting the road for a chance to win great prizes. Your entry could be made into a radio or television PSA or a billboard.

Put your message to music.  Enter an original song up to 2 minutes in length on cassette tape or compact disc, or upload an mpeg file at www.pausetoclick.com.  See the rules page for some additional things to think about as you write your song.

Create a public service announcement.  Enter a video up to 1 minute in length on DVD or video tape.

Design a work of art.  Enter a poster up to 11” x 17” in size.  Any medium is acceptable. If you want your art to have a chance to be displayed as a billboard, think about it like a billboard when you create it. Take a look at billboards you see around town that grab your eye. Since people only have a few seconds to view a billboard, think about how to get your message across without a lot of words or detailed graphics.

All submissions must be received by August 6, 2010!

In addition to getting the chance to have your entry made into a radio or television PSA or billboard that will be seen or heard by people all over Greater Cleveland, you have the chance to win cold, hard cash!
